  Welcome!

  On arrival in Cape Town, you are immediately greeted by one of Born Free Safaris' VIP host. Most international flights arrive in the evening; you will be escorted directly to your hotel and assisted with check-in.
  
  Cape Town is a fabulously diverse and vibrant city, from its beautiful natural scenery to its colorful Cape Malay arts district. With Table Mountain rising behind the city skyline, Cape Town is undeniably one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It is surrounded by verdant valleys, magnificent coastlines, and stunning granite mountains. The city is abundantly endowed with rich historical "Old World" ambience, heightened by Victorian buildings, cobble-stoned squares, mosques, and Cape Dutch architecture.

  Cape Town

  Table Mountain & City

  Breakfast and then you're off on your introduction to the Cape region with your guide. Head up to the top of Table Mountain on a slowly rotating cable car. Weather permitting, you can see unsurpassed views of both sides of the city, as well as Robben Island and the surrounding mountains.
  
  Continue on to the Bo-Kaap/Cape Malay arts district, where you will visit several artisan houses including the world-famous Streetwire. Then on to Greenmarket Square, the House of Parliament, and City Hall.
  
  Tonight, there will be time to try one of the fabulous local restaurants. Cape Town is a foodie's dream. Top restaurants require reservations months in advance. Born Free Safaris' Concierge service can assist with reservations.

  03

  Cape Peninsula

  Cape Point, Penguin Beach

  Today takes you on a full day out of the city and on one of the most spectacular drives in South Africa. Travel to the Cape of Good Hope. If you wish, you can take the funicular to the point for spectacular views of the ocean and coastline.
  
  Continue to what most consider a highlight of the day, a beach where thousands of African penguins make their home. Then, journey on through the scenic fishing villages and spectacular Hout Bay.
  
  Lunch at one of the excellent seafood restaurants. In season, visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens with many of the endemic flora and fauna such as the striking Proteas and Fynbos.

  Cape Region

  À la Carte Touring

  Spend today on your choice of "À la carte" touring. You'll select from a range of excursions that are already included in the price of the trip. Discuss your interests with a Born Free Safaris Specialist who will then create your personalized private tour.
  
  Ideas for À la Carte Touring:
  1) A full day exploring Cape Town.
  
  2) A full- or half-day visit to magnificent Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, an area dotted with Cape Dutch architecture, majestic granite peaks, fine wine, and cheese & chocolate tasting venues.
  
  3) A journey to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned.
  
  4) Visit to the philanthropic Uthando Community Project, an amazing collection of innovative, inspiring, community development projects and charitable organizations across a broad spectrum of sectors.

  Botswana

  Chobe - Savute - Khwai Reserve

  Fly on a scheduled flight to Botswana where you will board a charter flight to your base for your safari.
  
  It is here that the wildlife runs free, vehicles are limited, and you will sense the grandeur of Africa. Stretching from the Linyanti River to the Savute Marsh, the winding waterways of the Savute Channel have created a habitat teeming with wildlife.
  
  The Lion Prides of Savute
  The region is home to Africa's most resilient wildlife populations. The area is home to legendary Marsh and Northern Lion Prides. The rugged landscape has led the territorial prides to master bush strategies.
  
  Set down on a bush airstrip where you are met by your guide, board your open vehicle, and head out on your first game drive on the way to your lodge.
  
  This evening open air dinner and the camp dining room. Then sit around the campfire on the open deck sharing stories of the day’s adventures.

  Botswana

  Chobe - Savuti - Khwai Concessionerve

  Coffee/tea greet you on your early morning wake-up call. As the sun comes up head out on a game drive. This time of morning is when the wildlife is most active. Following brunch in camp and time to enjoy the views from the lodge with hopefully a visit by elephant family.
  
  Day and night drives are conducted in open 4x4 vehicles.

  07

  Okavango Delta

  Moremi Game Reserve

  Board your scheduled charter flight to another game rich area within the Okavango ecosystem, the Moremi Game Reserve.
  
  The aerial views from the flights will be a highlight as you can get the full impact of the waterways and channels and how the link the areas.
  
  Many of the large herds move to Moremi when the flood waters are high. This is one of the only areas that has excellent game viewing throughout the year. The region has a very high concentration of cats.
  
  After a game drive, lunch is served at the lodge. Then head out on safari into the ancient riverine forests, open savanna, and serpentine channels with a varied habitat of exceptional fauna and flora.
  
  The diverse habitat ensures prolific sightings of elephant, buffalo, wild dog, hyena, giraffe, hippo, wildebeest, kudu, lechwe, lion, leopard, and cheetah, among others. Birding is spectacular especially in the spring and summer months when the migrants are breeding.

  Okavango Delta

  Moremi Game Reserve

  Botswana camps are selected to give you a contrast of experiences. Here in the Okavango take the time to go out on powerboats, or canoes, known locally as mokoros. Transport will depend on the water depths.
  
  Game drives morning and late afternoon. Your guide will search for the species you have yet to see.

  Okavango Delta

  Moremi Game Reserve

  As a change of pace head out into the bush with your professional guide for a short walk to get a glimpse of the flora and fauna. Birding is spectacular, with colorful gem like birds of all sizes.
  
  This evening have dinner under the stars and observe the African sky, which if you look closely you can see that the constellations are very different than the northern skies.

  10

  Victoria Falls

  Before bidding farewell to the African bush, board the mokoro, a dug-out canoe. Float silently through the reeds as your pole man takes you into the small waterways, or, if you prefer, many camps have motorized boats.
  
  Your Botswana safari draws to a close but wait! Your next stop is one of the great natural wonders of the world–Victoria Falls.
  
  Fly from your last camp on a connecting flight to Kasane and then Vic Falls, where you are taken to your choice of properties.
  
  In late afternoon, walk to have your first view of the Falls. Evening Sundowner Dinner Cruise.

  Victoria Falls

  À la Carte Touring

  Walking tour this morning with hopes of catching the rainbow that often arches over the gorge. Now in its 150 millionth year, the Falls reaches its zenith in about May each year. Be humbled by this magnificent presence of thundering falls and majestic tower of mist.
  
  Another day of "À la carte" touring. Select from the following ideas for excursions that are already included in the price of the trip:
  
  1) Small Boat Day Cruise - Different than the popular Sundowner cruise. Watch for hippos and colorful birds as you explore the tranquil channels.
  
  2) Community Visit - This is a chance where guests can really give back to the community, while exploring the markets and town of Victoria Falls. Projects will change subject to what support is most needed at the time (it could be an orphanage, local clinic, school, or mature adult home). You will be given a list of organizations that currently need support, then embark on a mission to source the items, and bring them to the needed area. It takes just a few hours but can impact the people for a lifetime!
  
  3) Visit vibrant markets and stone carvers.
