Giraffe Manor - The Safari Collection

Born Free "Diamond" Safari

11 Days/10 Nights

This safari is one of the Born Free PREMIUM safari experiences. We consider it a "DIAMOND" grade. The grade distinction is due to its unique accommodations and special experiences. The accommodations are highly desirable and must be booked a year or more in advance.

The Safari Collection is a Kenya family-owned group of luxury boutique accommodations renowned for owning the iconic Giraffe Manor. The collection focuses on sustainable, high-end, and immersive safari experiences in the Mara as well as the Northern Frontier area of Kenya. All properties are this safari support local conservation and communities.

Also featured is Ol Donyo Lodge, a high-end safari lodge co-owned by Dereck and Beverly Jouberts, renowned conservationists and photographers for National Geographic Explorers at Large.

Step into the 1930s at Giraffe Manor, a historic Nairobi estate where the film "Out of Africa" comes to life. While the elegant interiors are breathtaking, the true magic happens at breakfast - the resident herd of Nubian/Rothchild giraffes often poke their long necks through the windows for a treat. By staying here, you are part of a legendary success story that has helped save this once-endangered species from extinction. The Garden Manor was added in 2011 adjacent to the main house, meticulously crafted in the identical style and features the same experience.

The Born Free Safari Collection’s exclusive journey whisks you away to three of East Africa’s game-rich areas. Stay on conservancies as well as in the heart of the Masai Mara National Reserve in properties that offer more than just seeing wildlife but an overall experience that will meet your wildlife expectations. Share breakfast with giraffes. See rhinos in numbers found nowhere else in East Africa. Meet the Samburu people and discover their traditions. In the Mara, witness the great wildebeest and zebra movements along with close-up encounters with lion, cheetah, and elephant.

**While Born Free has a privileged relationship with Giraffe Manor and The Safari Collection, the venue remains one of the most sought-after stays in the world. We strongly recommend submitting requests a year or more in advance.
