Uganda - Focus Mountain Gorillas

4 Days/3 Nights

One of the most awe-inspiring experiences in Africa is visiting with the Mountain Gorillas. On a Born Free Gorilla Safari, you will travel into the heart of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park to view a gorilla family at close range. Watch as the Silverbacks play with their teenagers and babies cling to their mothers. You will amaze how very much like us they are. It is the one species that you will feel a real connection.

Is this your dream trip?

Have you ever dreamed of coming face to face with the Silverback gorillas? Uganda can provide you with one of the world’s last great adventures – a Gorilla Trek!  You can expect a wildlife interaction with no comparison. You must be able to walk long distances (possibly 2-3 miles one way) at altitude. Depending upon what gorilla family you trek will depend on your physical ability. If you can walk and hike a few miles, then trekking a family in the lower mountain areas is for you. Or, if you are physically fit, you might want to choose a trek where you hike for a few hours to reach the gorilla family.  If you feel you can take this on - it will be well-worth the efforts. Looking deep into the expressive brown eyes of these gentle giants is an extremely special privilege and an encounter unparalleled in most likely the whole of Africa.

Permits are purchased upon deposit. No reservations are made without knowing that permits are available.

Tailor-Made Itinerary: All Uganda itineraries are personalized. We highly recommend adding a Kenya or Tanzania big game safari if you are hoping to see the "Big Five" in addition to the primates. All Born Free Safaris are geared around maximizing the wildlife experience. Your research has led you to Born Free Safaris, now let our Specialists tailor your journey the way you want to experience it.
